Peg Rail Installation Guide

Peg Rail Installation & Product Guide

Before installing your new peg rails, we recommend that you review this guide thoroughly.

It contains all the essential installation information, product safety and care recommendations.

Knobbly peg rails are decorative items only. They are not toys and should not be used as such.

The weight each rail can hold is related to the material into which the hook is installed.

Our recommended method of installation is into at least one wall stud for durability and strength.

See below for more information depending on your wall type.

How to Install Your Peg Rails – Direct into studs

Installing your peg rails is quick and easy — and for the strongest hold, we always recommend fixing them directly into a wall stud.

What You’ll Need

  • Drill

  • 3mm drill bit

  • Stud finder

  • Pencil

  • Level (optional, but handy!)

Step 1: Find the studs – Use a stud finder to locate the studs in your wall. In most Aussie homes, they’re about 450mm apart — our peg rails are designed to suit this spacing.

Step 2: Mark it out – Use the template provided to mark your holes. Double-check they’re straight using a level.

Step 3: Drill the holes – With your 3mm drill bit, drill directly into the studs about 30mm deep.

Step 4: Insert the screws – Screw them into the wall, leaving a few millimetres
sticking out.

Step 5: Hang it up: Line up the keyholes on the back of your peg rail, then slide it down gently until it feels secure.

💡 Be sensible with what you hang.

How to Install Your Wall Hooks – Direct into plasterboard

Installing your peg rail into plasterboard (without wall studs) is still easy — you’ll just need to use wall plugs to keep it secure.

What You’ll Need

  • Drill

  • 3mm drill bit

  • Wall plugs or anchors (suitable for plasterboard)

  • Screws (included)

  • Screwdriver

  • Level (optional, but helpful!)

  • Pencil

Step 1: Mark your spots

Use the template provided to mark the screw holes on your wall.
Double-check they’re straight using a level.

Step 2: Insert the wall plugs

Use a #2 Phillips Head screwdriver to pierce the plasterboard with the plug. You can also use a drill on low speed, but stop before it's flush. Finish by hand so the plug sits flat.

Step 3: Insert the screws
Screw them into the wall plugs, leaving a few millimetres sticking out so your peg rail can slot neatly onto them.

Step 4: Hang it up
Line up the keyholes on the back of your peg rail with the screw heads and slide it down gently until it feels snug and secure.

💡 Be sensible with what you hang.

SAFETY INFORMATION

Peg Rails

• Adult installation only.
• This product is not a toy
• Peg Rails are not toys and should not be used as such.
• The amount of weight our rails can hold is related to the material into which the hook is installed.
• When installed into a pre-drilled stud the rail can support up to 10kg.
• If installing directly into plasterboard, the included wall plug can be used, however the weight is dependent on the strength of the plasterboard - this will be the possible point of failure not the hook itself.
• Only light items would be suggested for plasterboard installations (eg hats, light decorations etc).
• Our preferred recommendation method of installation is into at least one wall stud (two is preferred).
• Use common sense when deciding what to hang from your peg rail.
• Do NOT allow children to hang on to the peg rail.
• We do not recommend hanging items in reach of children, near sleep areas, above cots or change tables etc. to avoid possible injury.
