At Knobbly, we believe that colour and fun shouldn’t come at the cost of the planet. That’s why we use sustainably sourced timber in everything we make — from wall hooks to name signs, hang ups, garlands, and beyond. No plastic. No landfill-bound trend pieces. Just beautifully made things that last.

Here’s why we choose timber every time — and why it matters.

🌱 1. Timber is renewable (and gorgeous)

Sustainably sourced timber is one of the most planet-friendly materials out there. Trees absorb carbon as they grow, and when managed properly, forests can regenerate — providing a continuous supply of material without depleting resources.

We love working with timber not just for its sustainability, but for its natural beauty. Every grain tells a story, and no two pieces are ever quite the same.

AND - our long term goal is to create a world where knobbly products can also be purchased, sold or swapped when no longer needed. Our facebook group is (very small)  but hopefully can get bigger with time and our products continue to not be thrown out when no longer needed.

💛 5. Sustainable isn’t just a word — it’s our choice

From the materials we choose to the way we pack and ship your orders, we’re always looking for ways to reduce our footprint.

• We use recyclable or compostable packaging

• We make everything by hand in our Brisbane studio

• We keep our supply chains local and minimal

• We make-to-order — no wasteful overproduction here!

• We recycle all our timber plywood offcuts - it becomes mulch, compost, particle board or biomass for biofuel.
• We limit the use of MDF when we can as this is harder to recycle and are currently trying to source a better, greener alternative where these products are used.
